OUR ROOTS

1874
The Rieter-Werke, one of the oldest and most well-known representatives of the brick machinery industry, was founded in 1874 in Konstanz (DE) under Swiss management.

1900
At the World Fair in Paris in 1900, it has been successfully introduced the first wet grinding pan and the first revolving roof tile press. In 1911, at the World Fair in Turin, the enterprise was the only one in its field awarded the “Grand Prix.”

1906
Mr. Silvio Andrea Morando founded Officine Morando in Asti (IT) and started his activity manufacturing the first machines for the brick factories.

1920
Officine Morando becomes the first company to propose an entire line of machines and equipment for the bricks industry.

1970
Morando reaches its maximum dimension: over 80.000 sqm of facilities, 1.400 employees, 340 high-level technicians, 5 sites abroad including “Morando Brazil”, more than 5.000 plants supplied worldwide and the most significant R&D dept in this field.

2010
Rieter machines manufacturing is relocated in Asti, keeping German high-quality standards. Morando products range is therefore implemented by Rieter machines and is able to respond to the needs of more and more customers around the world.

2018
Rieter and Morando merged and strengthened in a new company structure.
Born the new brand: Rieter Morando.
The Konstanz site is a competence-center for service, maintenance, and spare parts, whereas the Asti site focuses on R&D and on cutting edge technological solutions for industrial production of new machines.
